Umbrella Lane has ran for over three years on volunteer commitment and sex worker-led vision & commitment to change the environment we live in, take ownership of our own needs and responding services, reduce isolation amongst sex workers, building a community in a context of increasing policing, arrest and deportation. We have purposely not applied for funding and are ineligible for government funding due to our refusal to prioritise exiting and instead focus on meeting sex workers needs at that point in their lives, whether that be through them wishing to keep safe, reduce isolation, report violence, deal with mental health issues, access health or justice services or move on from sex work to other employment. We believe this is what makes our project unique and has allowed us to build trust within our community.
We therefore are solely reliant on the solidarity and kindness of people who support sex workers' rights, and wish to join us on this project of change for all people who do sex work, through choice, circumstance or coercion. If you are in a position to donate to our project on a one-off or recurring basis, your generosity will allow the project to continue the services we provide and expand our projects.
